Shirai sketch cover
I did another sketch cover and put it up on ebay.  www.ebay.com/itm/201499083032?…

This time the theme was Shirai, one of the lead characters from Wayward, my ongoing series from Image Comics.

Wayward Spider lady by Stekichikun
Wayward Spider lady
Here is a page from Wayward 9 featuring the Jorogumo, or the spider lady.  This is a character I particularly enjoy drawing.  Drawn on Deleter manga paper (110 kg) cut to US comic board size.  Deleter absolutely rocks!!!

I'm heading to the Tokyo International Comics Festival for the first time next week. Are you planning to attend this year? The website has an artist by the name of "Wayward." I'm guessing that's just a typo and means you. Anyway, if you are, I'm looking forward to stopping by your table.

Thanks for the question.  Wayward will be present and doujinshi and whatnot will be for sale (including original comic book pages but not Wayward pages) but I will not be there.  Unfortunately I have a scheduling issue that will keep me away.  So please stop by the booth and say hi to the real life Azuma kun (points if you remember who that character is and what issue he appeared in from the comic book).

Wayward has been a fantastic read so far. Each time it pops up in my pull list makes my day better.

Bought Wayward #1 last year because the cover looked cool as well as the inside art. Then I put it aside figuring I'd read it later, I seem to do that with a few comics. Anyway, I finally read it and loved it. The lines, the COLORS! and the writing are all awesome!! I bought the trade and got a subscription at the comic shop. Keep up the good work! It's fantastic!!
